First test chat

Test chat lets you talk to your assistant before shoppers do. Test chats don't count toward your plan's conversations.

Start a test chat#

   Go to AI assistant > Test chat, or select Test chat at the top of any settings page.

   Ask what a shopper would ask

   Tap a suggested question or type your own.

   Select a reply to see why it answered that way.

Try a few of these:

• Do you have this in a medium?
• What's your return policy?
• Something warm for winter, under $50
• Add two to my cart

See why it answered#

Under each reply, Why this answer shows the sources it used, the products it looked up, the rules it followed and anything it did, like building a cart.

Fix a reply#

Select Fix this reply under any answer.

• Right answer saves your answer as a Q&A in the Knowledge base. It uses it from now on.
• Always do this adds a rule that every reply follows. Rules are on Growth and Pro. Edit them in Behavior.

Select Test again to check the change.

Test unsaved changes#

When a settings page has unsaved changes, the button reads Test changes. The test chat uses your changes before you save them. Shoppers only see them after you select Save.

Limits#

The count resets over the next 24 hours. Test chats are deleted after 7 days.
