Sales
Add-ons, free shipping, discounts, newsletter signup and Smile.io points.
Open in dashboardGo to AI assistant > Sales to help the assistant sell more. These settings work on every plan, except newsletter signup.
Checkout#
The assistant can build a cart in the chat. It shows the items and total, asks the shopper to confirm, then shares a Shopify checkout link. Shipping is added at checkout.
Bigger orders#
- Suggest add-ons: on by default. After a cart is built, it suggests one item that goes with it, from Shopify's product recommendations.
- Free shipping reminder: enter the order value that ships free from. The assistant tells shoppers how much more to add. Leave it empty if you don't offer free shipping.
Discounts#
All discount settings are together here. The assistant reads your discounts from Shopify. It never creates new ones.
Discount codes it may share#
Shared when a shopper asks for a deal. Automatic discounts always apply.
- All active codes: any active code in Shopify.
- Selected codes: only the codes you pick. This is the default, and no codes are picked until you choose some.
- No codes: it never shares a code.
Discount nudges#
On by default. The assistant says how much more unlocks a discount, like "Add $12 more for 10% off". It uses your Shopify discounts with a minimum spend or item count, and only names codes it may share.
Discount popup#
On by default. After Add to cart, a small popup shows how much more unlocks a discount.
It uses Shopify discounts with a minimum spend or item count. The list shows which ones it uses. Select Share code on a discount to let the popup name its code. It shows at most 3 times per visit.
Newsletter signup#
On Growth and Pro. Shoppers join your newsletter in the chat.
Connect a list
Select Connect to link Shopify customers, Klaviyo or Mailchimp in Integrations.
Pick a reward, or No reward. Choose one of your active Shopify codes and write a short Reward description, like "10% off your first order".
Keep One-time codes on to give each subscriber their own single-use code. Not available for Buy X Get Y discounts.
Select Save
The assistant only signs a shopper up after they type their email and say yes. They get an email to confirm. Nothing is added to your list, and no code is shown, until they confirm. The confirm link lasts 3 days.
See who signed up in Contacts.
Smile.io points and rewards#
On Growth and Pro, for Shopify stores. If you run a Smile.io rewards program, the assistant answers questions about points in the chat.
- Signed-in shoppers see their points balance, the rewards they can redeem now and how close they are to the next one. When they check out, it may mention a reward once.
- Guests see how to earn points and what rewards there are, with a note to sign in to see their points. The assistant never looks up points by an email typed in the chat.
To connect it:
Make an API key in Smile
Go to Settings > Developer tools and select Generate new API key. API keys are on Smile's Plus and Enterprise plans.
Select these scopes
customer:read, points_product:read, earning_rule:read and points_settings:read.
Paste the key in Integrations > Smile.io and select Connect. We check the key with Smile before saving it.
Signed-in points also need the customers permission in Shopify. If it's missing, the Smile.io window shows Approve.
If the key is revoked, Smile is uninstalled or your Smile plan changes, the card shows Needs attention and the assistant stops showing points. Paste a new key, or select Check connection once it's fixed.
